The trade labour necessary to complete the kitchen is calculated, this generally includes plumbing, electrical, tiling, plastering etc as required for your customized kitchen.
This is valued at $500

KITCHEN QUOTATION – 2 x 1 hour in home meetings
Your kitchen renovation quote entitles you to 2 separate meetings with Lucy, the first meeting is to discuss what you are intending to have in your new custom kitchen. And for Lucy to measure the room.
Following our initial meeting, she will work on your chosen kitchen layout for you and produce a detailed quotation including all pricings for cabinetry, benchtops, splashbacks and the labour costs for the necessary trade works. Lucy will also show our costs for managing the project for you, we highly recommended you consider taking up this option as we are able to guarantee the work, oversee the work and schedule so that the project runs smoothly and you are without your kitchen for the shortest time possible.
Appliances will not be priced as you will choose them in your own time unless you otherwise request us to price them for you.
Lucy from Lucy J Design is an expert in kitchens – all types of kitchens. In 25 years in the kitchen industry, there is not much that she hasn’t seen.
Very early in this process it is vital to talk budget – without knowing an overall budget bracket it is not possible to give you the best kitchen. We know it can be a little uncomfortable, but it really is necessary, otherwise Lucy’s hands are tied.
She can only recommend the appropriate finishes and materials if she is aware of your investment. There are many handy cupboard fittings but without knowing the budget she would be reluctant to suggest them. There may be a structural change which will enable a much better layout, but again without knowing your budget bracket she may not feel comfortable exploring that with you.
Our second meeting takes place approximately 10-14 days later when the kitchen has been drawn and priced. You will see your kitchen on screen, we are then able to walk through it – and check all details around the room. You will get a very good idea of the amount of storage and work areas there are in the new kitchen. A thorough explanation of the layout and function of the new kitchen is provided during the presentation.
We will discuss the costings relating to the cabinets and internal fittings, door styles and finishes, there will be a benchtop price specifying the material, thickness and edge detail, there will be a separate price for the splashback if it is glass or Stainless Steel (if you choose to have a tiled splashback then it is included in the labour figure. The Labour and Management fees for the trade work required.
Trade Management – at Lucy J Design we pride ourselves on having an amazing team of trades people who are highly skilled, committed to producing a flawless job for our customers. We schedule all the trades people so the project runs smoothly, with as little down time as possible. We focus on getting you the very best kitchen possible, in the most efficient time frame.
Normally cabinet finishes and colours have been chosen by this point, the client knows what the preferred benchtop and splashback materials are. You will have a good idea of the appliances you are intending to use in your kitchen, although models are not necessary at this stage, basic sizes are required in order to accurately layout the kitchen.
In summary, when you select this service, you give Lucy a brief for your new custom kitchen complete with a list of materials you wish to use for facings and benchtops, list of appliances to be used and their sizes, splashback material and cupboard fittings to be included. An accurate quotation will then be able to be produced. Lucy will be able to offer comment on your choices if you like.
This is purely a service which enables you to have your kitchen priced by a very experienced company who will deliver your dream kitchen.
IF… you are not at this stage, then the appropriate service for you is our “Ideas Session” or our “Plans and Specs” service.

You may be building a new home and don’t feel you have had enough “kitchen” input from the builder – after all he is focusing on the big picture – the whole of the new building.
