OUR MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LONG WILL MY KITCHEN BE OUT OF ACTION?

A standard kitchen renovation can be as fast as 1 week if there is no structural work involved and you have chosen a melamine finish for your doors & drawers and a laminate benchtop. Dismantling of the old kitchen, plumbing, electrical and tiling work and installation can all happen within the 5-7 days. A space which requires some structural work, eg a wall being removed, ceiling work, new window etc, stone benchtops with perhaps a glass splash back may take upto 5 weeks to complete.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE COST OF A STANDARD KITCHEN RENOVATION?

What is a standard kitchen is the question? What size is standard? What finishes are standard? What splashback is standard? There are too many variables to give a definitive answer. Let’s just say that all kitchens require a significant financial investment. There is more to consider than just the cabinets and benchtops. Plumber, electrician, plasterer, ceiling & cornices, painter, all need to be factored into the renovation budget. The trades people must be licensed, professionals who are experts in their field. They directly affect the longevity of your new kitchen. These trades add up to a considerable sum and are required whether you are installing a custom built quality kitchen or a cheap one. It seems to be false economy to be spending on trade work and then going out and buying cheap kitchen cabinets which are not going to have a long life. The reality is that a kitchen needs to be designed by a professional designer, built and installed by a professional cabinetmaker. It must be designed to meet your family’s needs and compliment your home. It is best to invest a small amount on having a designer take a look and provide you with a realistic quotation.
